The Russian FSB announced the arrest of Motoki Tatsunori, an employee of the Consulate General of Japan in Vladivostok.

This is reported by rosZMI.

It is claimed that the diplomat was allegedly "detained at the scene of the crime while receiving information of limited distribution about the current aspects of Russia's cooperation with one of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, the impact of the Western sanctions policy on the economic situation in the Primorsky Krai."

Propagandists claim that the Japanese diplomat admitted his guilt.

The consul was declared persona non grata.

Japan has protested through diplomatic channels.

It should be noted that the detention of the Japanese consul "coincided" with Tokyo's introduction of new sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Today, Japan banned the export of goods related to chemical weapons to Russia.
