The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijártó, said that despite the applied sanctions and the 8th package of numbers that are still under discussion, the Hungarian government will continue to issue Schengen visas to Russian citizens.

APA reports that the Hungarian minister stated this during his participation in the UN General Assembly in New York.

"With the existence of a visa agreement, the process becomes somewhat more complicated and slow.

However, even if there is no agreement, this does not mean that we will not issue a visa.

Of course, we will continue issuing visas according to the procedure," said Siyarto.

It should be noted that the European Union canceled the agreement on the simplified visa procedure with Russia on July 31.

Several European countries have completely stopped issuing visas to Russian citizens.
