Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will continue negotiations with President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu at a meeting with media representatives in Japan, reports Anadolu Agency.

"President Erdogan will continue negotiations with Putin and Zelensky. Our goal is to organize a meeting between the two leaders to make decisions at the level of heads of state. The whole world is paying for the consequences of this war," he said.

The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry also noted that it is necessary to achieve a "just peace".

At the same time, he emphasized that the currently occupied territories are the territories of Ukraine.

"Turkey did not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea from the very beginning, as it clearly stated to Russia. We also do not recognize the results of referendums on the territory of Ukraine," he said.

Earlier, at the end of his visit to the USA to participate in the 77th UN General Assembly, Erdogan announced new negotiations with the leaders of Ukraine and Russia.

"We will continue our efforts to ensure peace and stability in the future. For example, as soon as we return (from New York. - ed.), we will call the leaders again and continue our telephone diplomacy with them," he said.

At the same time, Erdogan recalled that he called on Russia to stop military operations and withdraw its forces from Ukraine, which entered its territory on February 24.
