"I am extremely proud to hear from all the officials I met in Bosnia and Herzegovina words of gratitude and appreciation for your participation in Operation Altea." This is what Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said

Dimitar Stoyanov was born on October 28, 1968 in Svilengrad.

In 1986, he ended up meeting today with the Bulgarian military personnel who are participating in the EU operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He thanked them for their dignified and conscientious performance of the tasks in the operation, which is of key importance for stability in Europe.

"14 years ago, I was also on a mission in Iraq and I know how stressful it is to be away from your loved ones and family and to fulfill your duties responsibly outside the country," noted Minister Stoyanov, as quoted by the press center of the Ministry of Defense.

The good preparation of the Bulgarian contingent and the excellent performance in Operation "Altea" was highlighted by the Chief of Defense Admiral Emil Eftimov at the meeting with the fighters.

The servicemen raised questions related to the travel allowances they receive for participating in the operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister Stoyanov undertook to do everything possible within his mandate to update them.
