"Mitko was crying, he said that he had a very bad accident, maybe he killed a person and he will suffer the consequences".

This is what the partner of Dimitar Ljubenov, who yesterday killed the Frenchman Loren Petit with a Porsche Panamera after hitting the car in which the foreigner was riding, told 24 Chasa.

The partner picked up Lyubenov's phone, spoke, but did not introduce himself by name.

After the horror of the Ring Road: Cocaine and 1.7 percent alcohol in the driver's blood

The incident happened on the capital's ring road, and Ljubenov first called his business partner.

The two are partners in a company for the removal of construction materials, as well as for the maintenance of septic tanks.

It was the partner who was the first on the scene.

"I don't know what happened, I hit him from behind," Lyubenov cried.

And asked his partner to take care of his sick mother and son.

"He was at work all day, Mitko doesn't drink or take drugs. Nothing bad was written about him, only you looked for the other side," said the partner.

And he pointed out that if he had wanted, Dimitar could have escaped.

"It was 4 in the morning, nothing prevented him from leaving and saying that his car was stolen," explained the man.

He added that the Porsche was leased.

He also explained that he went to the scene and then saw on television that one of the witnesses was lying.

The man claimed that Lyubenov had overtaken him.

On the spot, however, he said that he was in the oncoming traffic and swerved to block Lyubenov's path, so that the 39-year-old driver could not escape.

The partner admitted that Dimitar repeated "What do you care about a Frenchman, are you Bulgarians", but explained that the man was in a fit of hysterics.

Witnesses told about the accident on the Ring Road with one person dead and two injured

Lyubenov started his business in 2005, his partner also said.

He mortgaged his property so they would have funds.

The man described him as a "wonderful man".

And he added that he could not explain what happened, it could have been due to fatigue from work.

During the day, Dimitar was in the office, he pointed out.

Lyubenov was charged for the accident and detained for up to 72 hours.
