The life of the 62-year-old French citizen who was injured in the serious accident on the Ring Road in Sofia remains in danger.

She is in St. Anne's Hospital with a broken pelvis, fractured spine and traumatic brain injury.

39-year-old Dimitar Lubenov was driving drunk and drugged, the results of his tests showed.

According to investigators, he took cocaine just before getting into his sports car because it is a drug that breaks down quickly in the body.

Witnesses of the accident on the Sofia ring road, in which a French citizen died, claim that there was an obvious closeness between the detained driver and a policewoman who was present at the scene of the accident.

"An indecent behavior of an MIA officer from the "Security Police" made an impression that evening. She was in unnatural proximity to the perpetrator of the crime and his accomplice - giggling, physical contact by patting, familiarity and generally indecent behavior of a uniformed officer, which undermines the prestige of the many worthy employees working in the Ministry of the Interior. I would say that it is extremely similar to the Semerdzhiev case - like the policewoman there," Bilyana Borisova shared what she saw with Bulgaria ON AIR.

More details about the drugged driver from the Ring Road, did he have a police umbrella?

The prosecutor's office replied that at this stage they have no information about a "police umbrella" over the detainees.

"I saw that the perpetrator gave a small bag to his accomplice. I did not see a suitcase. I saw that there were people searching the car," added Bilyana.

Lyubenov's associate declined to comment, citing that he has a lot of work.

We are waiting for the auto technical examination, which will establish at what speed Lyubenov was driving.

He was detained for 72 hours.

The court is expected to decide tomorrow whether to keep Lyubenov in custody.
