[Reporter Wang Shanyan / Chiayi Report] A suspected gas explosion occurred at a residential house in Qingnian Street, Chiayi City at around 6 am today. The Chiayi City Fire Department was reported to dispatch 3 vehicles and 10 people from the Hunei Unit to rush to the rescue. However, after search and rescue, an 87-year-old grandmother surnamed Chen was found outside the house. She was conscious and had burns and scalds on 26% of her body. After evaluation, she was sent to Chiayi Christian Hospital by ambulance of the Cultural Unit for treatment.

The Chiayi City Fire Bureau received a report at 6:33 today and dispatched a team of people and vehicles to rescue the lake. When the firefighters arrived, the house fire had been extinguished. According to the people present, after the explosion, some neighbors rushed into the fire site. When the gas was lost, the grandmother surnamed Chen also fled the house in time, but luckily it did not spread to other residences.
