Russia holds 2,500 Ukrainians captive.

APA reports that Irina Vereshuk, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for reintegration issues, said this in a statement to the BBC.

"People remain in captivity, and worst of all, civilians remain there.

We are talking about 2,500 people," said Vereshuk.

According to him, most of the captives are women.

"We must put the issue together and demand the release of civilians.

Civilians should be changed and returned," said Irina Vereshuk.
