Today, all threats with nuclear weapons from Russia are no longer aimed at Kyiv, but at the West.

Oleksandr Musienko, head of the Center for Military and Legal Research, expressed this opinion to Channel 24.

"Given how obsessed Putin is with neo-imperial ambitions, aggression and hatred,

the possibility of using nuclear weapons exists

," said Musienko.

He explained that nuclear missiles are not launched randomly, that is, the country must practice potential points for strikes in various exercises.

"According to the publicly available information provided by Western intelligence and experts, Russia has not worked out plans for nuclear tactical strikes on Ukraine," the expert said.

However, the Russian Federation trained to beat in other places.

According to Musienko,

there are two points from which the aggressor country considered potential local nuclear strikes.

We are talking about Belarus, from where the Russians worked out plans to attack the Baltic states.

The expert explained that it would be beneficial for Russia to launch nuclear missiles from the territory of another country, so that in the event of a retaliatory strike, the missiles would land there and not on the territory of the Russian Federation.

The second direction is the Kaliningrad region.

Russian Iskander missile complexes are located there, and where, according to the Russian Federation, nuclear warheads were imported.

"Russia has been conducting various military exercises with a nuclear component since 2006. And in 2009, the Russians

simulated a local nuclear attack on Warsaw and Copenhagen

," Musienko informed.

At the same time, he noted that the fact that the country has not yet appeared in the Russian exercises as an object for destruction does not in any way indicate the impossibility of a nuclear strike on Ukraine.

"Russia could and can now urgently work out other scenarios of strikes on other objects and other cities, in particular in Ukraine," the expert suggested.

However,

Russia will not be able to completely hide its preparations for a nuclear strike

.

After all, as soon as some relevant signs will be visible, "we will see countermovements and warnings from partners."

"Today, the USA and NATO only warn of devastating consequences. But this position does not indicate that something inevitable will happen," Musienko pointed out.

According to his assessment, currently all nuclear threats from Russia are no longer aimed at Ukraine, but at the West.

"Putin understands that he has no direct influence on Ukraine, so he is trying to do it through our Western partners. Russia is intimidating the West in order to force them to reduce military aid to Ukraine and encourage Kyiv to negotiate," the military expert explained.

It will be recalled that military expert Oleg Zhdanov explained why Putin would not dare to launch a nuclear strike.
