The Ukrainian military needs supplies of tanks from the United States, as well as Europe.

If the USA can show its leadership and send tanks to Ukraine, then European allies will follow suit.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in an interview with CBS News.

"If the US can show its leadership and provide tanks,

then (will provide tanks. - Ed.) Germany, and then other European countries.

I think that if we receive tanks from the USA, European allies will also help us de-occupy Ukrainian cities with tanks," said the head of state.

Zelensky called on the West not to believe Russian propaganda that, supposedly, as soon as Ukraine gets more powerful weapons, it will start shelling the territory of the Russian Federation.

"Do not believe the Russian false narratives that say that Ukraine will be given tanks to shoot or aim at Russia, this is not true. Even if we wanted it. Our task is to protect our own territory. We do not need someone else's. We want to protect our land and save our people," Zelensky explained.

Also, according to him, the Ukrainian army needs HIMARS and other anti-aircraft missiles, as well as anti-aircraft systems, for a successful counteroffensive.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced that Ukraine received NASAMS systems.
