Valer Kovalevsky, the representative of the APC in foreign affairs and the head of the cabinet of the Belarusian democratic leader Svyatlana Tsikhanovskaya, made a corresponding statement, BPN informs.

"In connection with the start of the so-called referendums on the annexation of the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions to Russia, we have the following to say," he noted.

— The United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus does not recognize either the initiative, the process, or the results of illegal referendums.

The so-called referendums are announced and conducted by occupation administrations controlled by Russia and appointed by Russia."

According to Kovalevsky, the referendums have no legitimacy on the territory of Ukraine, they are held "under the forceful control of the Armed Forces of Russia with the use of direct pressure on the local population."

Referendums in the occupied regions of Ukraine "are held in violation of international norms and standards and in the context of violence, in a non-transparent manner, which means they cannot serve as a basis for self-determination."

"Using them for such purposes will also be considered a threat to the security of Belarus.

Statements and actions of any representatives of the state authorities of Belarus, aimed at recognizing the results of the referendums, will be considered as a state crime, as actions that harm the national security of the Republic of Belarus," added the representative of the APC in foreign affairs.

The Joint Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, emphasized Kovalevsky, "considers any attacks on the territorial integrity of Ukraine to be criminal, including the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and Russia's illegal seizure of part of the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in the period after 2014."

At the same time, the APC "recognizes Ukraine's unconditional right to de-occupy the said territories by any available means, including political, military and other measures, to exact retribution against persons guilty of organizing criminal referendums and their consequences, and will provide all possible support to Ukraine in this."

The holding of referendums in the territories of Ukraine occupied by Russia was announced simultaneously with the beginning of mobilization in the Russian Federation.

The decision to mobilize was made after the Ukrainian troops began to actively advance to the east of the country, liberating their lands.

The United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus was created in August on the initiative of Svetlana Tsikhanovskaya.
