The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania clarified the issue of refusing visas to employees of the "Russia Today" channel.

According to the report of APA with reference to TASS, the journalists were supposed to cover the conference of the International Communication Union held in Bucharest.

The Ministry reports that visas were issued to 17 officials based on the request of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

However, presenting 14 employees of the "Russia Today" channel as officials of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Development of Russia is not legal.

The Romanian side believes that refusing visas to 14 people does not affect Russia's interests and that the representatives duly participated in the event.
