Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko announced this on Telegram.

"Kyiv and Barcelona have become twin cities. Cooperation at the city level is very important today, because cities play a key role in the development of states and deepening cooperation between them," he said.

Klitschko recalled that Barcelona provided Ukraine with fire trucks, humanitarian aid, as well as temporary shelter for Ukrainians fleeing the war.

"Barcelona Mayor Ada Kolow emphasized that her city will continue to help and support Kyiv and Ukraine. In particular, we also discussed cooperation in the areas of public transport, ecology, smart city and culture," Klitschko said.

According to him, Barcelona is celebrating City Day this weekend.

"Next year, Kyiv will be a partner city in celebrating Barcelona's birthday. Ukrainian culture and cuisine will be presented on the streets of Barcelona, ​​and events will be held with the participation of artists from Kyiv," Klitschko added.

It should be noted that Barcelona has become the seventh European city with which Kyiv has established twinning since the beginning of Russia's large-scale aggression.
