"

For "Democratic Bulgaria" there are two fundamental priorities: Putin's aggression with its consequences for energy and our security and defense, and corruption, which is also connected to the Kremlin."

This was announced in an interview with Darik Radio by the co-chairman of "Democratic Bulgaria" Hristo Ivanov

He was born on September 13, 1974 in Sofia.

Hristo Ivanov has a master's degree in law from Sofia University, who is also the leader of the lists of the union in the 24th MIR in Sofia and in Plovdiv.

The

entire political elite, with the exception of us, entered this election with the will to ignore the war, not to talk or think about it.

The way not to be afraid is to show that we have national agreements on what to do, that we have policies," said Ivanov.

And he explained that whether we like it or not, we are part of the war, because two months before the invasion of Ukraine, Putin demanded that the geopolitical architecture of Eastern Europe be revised and that it return to the borders of 1997. Separately, that Moscow declared Bulgaria an enemy country.

"The attempt to blow up this order is an attempt to blow up our way of life and replace it with something completely unpredictable," warned the leader of "Yes, Bulgaria".

And he urged: "All institutions and political leaders must unify our assessment and have a national agreement on this issue."

According to Ivanov, dialogue must be maintained and some form of agreement sought in the new parliament in order to be able to make changes in the prosecutor's office and the Supreme Judicial Council, for which a large majority is needed, although, in his words, another "salad parliament", composed of many heterogeneous formations.

"It takes sobriety, focus, modesty and an awareness of where things are going.

People expect concrete results for their lives", said the co-chairman of the DB.

"We are against this next populist auction to promise higher salaries.

The government cannot give this money, it can give inflation.

The ways to raise income permanently and sustainably are investments and good jobs.

At the moment, huge capital is being exported from Russia, and Bulgaria is not competitive in attracting these jobs", said Ivanov and outlined the following priorities for attracting foreign investments:

Justice, because no one will come to us without legality;

Radical change of the investment promotion regime, because they even leave Bulgaria and go to Serbia and Romania;

Electronic governance to make Bulgaria easy to live and work in;

Education to have quality jobs in high value-added industries.

"There are many possibilities, if we tighten up, in a year or two Bulgaria will go in a new direction of economic development, as long as there is agreement on a government that has the will and knows how.

The national interest is to clearly understand the tasks before us and to pragmatically evaluate which formula can solve them", said Ivanov.

According to him, for "Democratic Bulgaria" the principle of participation or not in a given coalition means resisting threats from the Kremlin and fighting corruption, as the two topics are mutually related.

"GERB as long as they are, even if they win elections, they cannot govern.

They behave as if their 12 years of rule did not happen, that there was no serious problem with corruption," said Ivanov.

And he added that for DB the problem is not personal, but systemic.

"We want to eliminate the systemic and institutional prerequisites for corruption, not one or another person from GERB.

People will beat us if we have to participate in governance with them.

Not to mention the DPS".

According to Ivanov, "Democratic Bulgaria" will be the initiator and guarantor of the observance of another national priority - the radical modernization of the army.

"We cannot continue to keep our weapon fetishes from Soviet times.

And that doesn't just mean buying some hardware, it means a huge investment in human capital, in science, in technology.

Look at Israel," Ivanov said.

And he also called for the cleansing of the special services from Russian influence.

"We need to reform our justice in a way that is neutral.

Not for GERB to give up their Geshev, but for us to put ours on - that's more of the same.

There should not be a person in whom so much formal and informal power can be concentrated", said Hristo Ivanov

And he called on politicians to stop passing judgment on each other.

But he joked that MPs should use a pyrograph to write the name Kurz on their banks - the Austrian chancellor who left not because he was convicted of abuses and corruption, but because he had doubts.

According to Ivanov, in Bulgaria we are used to a chancellor republic and a strong underestimation of the parliament, which is why we think that the main political leader should become the deputy prime minister - while he can also bear responsibility in the parliament.

And he urged us not to rush to define the future government as "expert or programmatic", because these words have become taboo, as well as the word consensus.

"We will have to talk about the substance and bear responsibility.

Because for every "salad government" responsibility will be borne in the parliament", said Hristo Ivanov

According to him, one of the reasons for the collapse of the previous governing coalition was precisely the underestimation of the parliament, while some politicians felt like they were in a western in the government.

Ivanov urged us not to allow Bulgaria to switch to presidential rule.

And that here we are not even talking about a presidential republic in which there is a parliament, but one that has offices without a parliament for months and months, which is very dangerous.
