In both Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, conscription into the army and other power structures of foreign states is a criminal offense.

On September 20, the State Duma of Russia adopted amendments to the legislation on simplified acquisition of Russian citizenship by foreigners.

Now, citizens of other states can get a Russian passport in a simplified manner by concluding a contract for service in the Russian army or other military formations for a period of at least one year.

Before that, it is not necessary to obtain a residence permit.

, said that the Council is preparing proposals for the State Duma, which would oblige citizens of Central Asian countries who received Russian citizenship in the last 10 years to undergo mandatory military service in Russia.
