[Reporter Yang Chengyu/Taipei Report] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today (23) that the Permanent Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yu Dazai attended the "Saudi Arabian Trade Office" held in Taipei on the evening of the 22nd. National Day Dinner of the 92nd Anniversary of the Founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia". 

In his speech, Yu Daya pointed out that Saudi Arabia is my country's 15th largest trading partner, as well as my country's largest trading partner and largest crude oil supplier in the Middle East. Nearly one-third of my country's crude oil imports come from Saudi Arabia, and its long-term stable energy supply , to provide a strong backing for my country's industrial development and economic growth.

Yu Daya affirmed that Saudi Arabia listed my country in the list of the first countries to open electronic visas in Saudi Arabia at the beginning of this year.

Adel Fahad A. Althaidi, representative of the Saudi Arabian Commercial Office in Taiwan, said in his speech that Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" national development plan has achieved extraordinary success under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed. In addition to making specific progress in environmental protection and addressing global climate change issues, the achievements have also actively shaped Saudi Arabia's friendly investment prospects and environment on the basis of mutual benefit.

The governments of Taiwan and Saudi Arabia have long been committed to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, and the Saudi Office in Taiwan will continue to deepen bilateral exchanges in culture, commerce, investment and tourism.

Yu Daya and representatives of Adel cut the cake together after their speeches, symbolizing the prosperity of Saudi Arabia and wishing the friendship between Taiwan and Saudi Arabia to last forever. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the friendship between Taiwan and Saudi Arabia has a long history. The two countries have close exchanges in the fields of economy, trade, culture, education, and agriculture. The development of the Islamic market has also been one of the important policies of the Chinese government in recent years. The Agreement on Preventing Tax Evasion and Evasion (referred to as the Taiwan-Saudi Tax Agreement) was officially applied on January 1 this year, further enhancing the substantial bilateral relationship.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to uphold the spirit of mutual benefit and further deepen the cooperation between the two countries and enhance the exchanges between the two peoples.
