[Instant News/Comprehensive Report] China's military expansion ambitions in the South China Sea have aroused the fear of the United States and its allies.

The latest satellite images captured by the US company Maxar Technologies show that the People's Liberation Army is expanding the Yulin naval submarine base on Hainan Island.

"MilitaryTimes" reported that the Yulin base is located at the southern tip of Hainan Island.

From the images taken by Marsal Technology on July 31, it can be seen that the communist army is building two new jetties at the northernmost and southern positions of the existing four jetties.

According to the measurement tool of "Google Earth", the north pier is 191 meters long and 22 meters wide; the south pier is 260 meters long and 22 meters wide.

The Yulin base is part of a large base of the PLA Navy's South China Sea Fleet, and the anchored ships include nuclear-powered attack and ballistic missile submarines, including six Type 09IV nuclear submarines.

The report mentioned that in addition to the submarine jetty, you can also see the jetty built by the Communist army for large surface ships, which may be the home port of the PLA's second aircraft carrier Shandong in the future.

A wave of upgrades has also been carried out at the adjacent Sanya helibase facility, including the renovation of several hangars, resurfacing of the runway and expansion of the apron.

The report pointed out that the South China Sea Fleet is the fastest growing unit of the PLA Navy's amphibious combat fleet, including the helicopter-capable Type 075 amphibious assault ship and the Type 071 integrated landing ship. These warships will be the core combat elements of China's invasion of Taiwan.
