Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's rhetoric about the possible use of nuclear weapons will not affect US aid to Ukraine.

This was stated by the spokesman of the Pentagon, Brigadier General Patrick Ryder, reports CNN.

"The statements coming out of Russia will not affect the Department of Defense's commitment to continue working with our international partners and allies to provide Ukraine with the support it needs to fight for its defense," Ryder told reporters.

The Pentagon spokesman added that Putin's threats will not affect the discussion of the types of lethal weapons that the US will provide to Ukraine.

"We're going to continue to have those conversations, and we're going to continue to think not only about what they need in the medium to long term, but what they need now," Ryder said.

"So I don't see that this situation (Putin's threats with nuclear weapons. - Ed.) will affect these conversations."

Earlier, military expert and political scientist Dmytro Snegiriov told whether Russia will use nuclear weapons.
