The matter of ban on firecrackers reached the Supreme Court in Delhi on Diwali

The matter of banning firecrackers in Delhi has reached the Supreme Court.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has reached the court against the decision of the Delhi government.

He has filed a petition in the Supreme Court.

In the petition, he has said that freedom of religion cannot be taken away on the pretext of right to life.

Manoj Tiwari has sought orders for the Delhi government to issue new guidelines regarding the sale, purchase and bursting of firecrackers acceptable.

The petition has also sought a direction to all the states not to take any punitive action like registering an FIR against the common people selling or using acceptable firecrackers during the upcoming festive season.

In fact, the Delhi government has banned the production, storage, sale and use of all types of firecrackers to prevent rising pollution levels.
