An officer of the "peacekeeping" brigade of the Russian Federation will be tried for cruel treatment of people in the Kyiv region.

The invader detained and brutally abused local residents of the villages of Mokrets and Zavorichi.

This is reported by the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

"Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, an indictment was sent to the court in the order of a special pre-trial investigation against the senior lieutenant - commander of the motorized rifle company of the 15th "peacekeeping" brigade of the 2nd Guards Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, for the fact of ill-treatment of the civilian population and issuing an order to commit such actions (part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the message says.

The investigation established that in March 2022, the accused, while staying in the occupied village of Mokrets, together with other Russian soldiers captured two civilians who did not have weapons and did not participate in hostilities.

The senior lieutenant humiliated the prisoners during the illegal interrogation.

He demanded from the men to provide information about other pro-Ukrainian residents of the village, servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and soldiers of the Teroborona.

Not having received the necessary data, the occupier put on tactical gloves with plastic inserts and beat the victims on the face and head.

On his order, the prisoners took off all their clothes, after which they continued to be beaten and forced to go down to the basement.

It was also established that in March 2022 in the village of

Zavorichi, Brovar district, together with other military personnel, conducted an illegal interrogation of a local resident in one of the houses.

At that time, another civilian passed by the house on a scooter.

Following the order of the company commander, the occupants opened fire on him with automatic weapons, as a result of which the victim was injured.

This officer of the armed forces of the Russian Federation is noted on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation as a model of courage and heroism for other servicemen who participated in armed aggression against Ukraine.
