The notification for the election of the Congress President will be issued on September 22.

Party leader Digvijay Singh

spoke exclusively to NDTV

just before the notification for the election of Congress President  and said that I am loyal to the party and will follow the instructions of the party.

On the question of contesting the election for the post of President, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh said that when I have to contest for this post, you will know.

Digvijay Singh said that you wait till the 30th, you will know.

On the other hand, when asked about Ashok Gehlot holding two posts, Digvijay Singh said that it is natural that the president of any national party should not take over the responsibility of the Chief Minister.

On the other hand, when Rahul Gandhi was persuaded to contest the election, Digvijay Singh said that I do not think he will agree.

Rahul Gandhi ji is firm in his words.

We want to see him in the presidency, but he has made his way. 

Let us tell you that Digvijay Singh is going to meet Sonia Gandhi in Delhi.

On the other hand, Ashok Gehlot and Shashi Tharoor are contenders for the post of president.

However, Gehlot wants to keep both the president's post and the CM's chair with him.

Earlier, Gehlot had met Sonia Gandhi.

It is being told that in this meeting, Sonia Gandhi had made it clear that she would not support anyone for the post of president. 

The notification for the election of Congress President will be issued on September 22 and the process of filing nominations will go on from September 24 to 30.

The last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 8.

Voting will be held on October 17 if there is more than one candidate.

After the polling is over, its results will be declared on October 19.
