Today, September 21, Vladimir Putin said that he supports the holding of so-called

pseudo

-referendums in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, saying that residents of the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions allegedly "expressed a desire to determine their own lives".

Human rights activist, director of the Institute of Strategic Research and Security Pavlo Lysyansky exclusively told

TSN.ua

whether it is possible to stop the Kremlin dictator and who has influence on Russia.

"I understand that there are still some specific sanctions left, which can, for example, freeze everything, limit the activities of the Russian Federation, but they themselves will suffer from this. That is, we must decide, or we will go to the end, as Russia is now playing all-in , or we will discuss something diplomatically, as we have done with Crimea for eight years. Therefore, I think that the world can do something, and they are doing it - they are supplying weapons. But I think that there should be a very powerful diplomatic influence here this week as much as possible . It is necessary that they influence Putin so that this (referendums - ed.) does not happen. Because this is nonsense. It will go down in world history as ambiguous decisions, because to come and occupy the territory: "We are holding a referendum." And you are the occupiers, what a referendum, there are no people there, people have left," he said.

According to Lysyanskyi, the actions of the Russian Federation confirm hypotheses and articles, even by the same Mr. Zaluzhnyi, that

this war is for a long time, it will not last until the end of the year

.

He noted that Russia will not back down at the last moment and will recognize the so-called results of "referendums" in the temporarily occupied territories.

"Because today all processes are lobbied by the Russian Federation. Apart from Russia, no one needs it. It is not even needed by the collaborators, Pasichnik, Pushylin. They lived very normally: subsidies from the Russian Federation, negotiations, they split the budgets, they had everything good. And as soon as Russia recognizes the pseudo-referendums, they will be removed from their positions and replaced by Russians. No one needs them," the human rights activist summarized.

It will be recalled that

Putin announced the holding of "referendums" in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
