[Reporter Zhou Xiangyun/New Taipei Report] In order to improve the traffic along the Dahan River, the New Taipei City Government promotes the addition of ramps in the Fuzhou area of Taiwan 65, the reconstruction of the Sanying Bridge, the new Sanying Second Bridge and the sidewalk outside Xinyingdi, etc., along with National Highway No. 3 and Taiwan 65 High-speed expressways build a complete transportation road network. The Transportation Bureau issued a press release today calling for the central government, hoping to start the feasibility study of expressways as soon as possible, and agree to the national (provincial) road connection project subsidies.

Zhong Mingshi, Director of Transportation, pointed out that in response to the frequent congestion of the Tucheng-Longtan section of National Highway No. 3 and the congestion of the Tucheng Interchange, the Executive Yuan requested the General Administration of Highways of the Ministry of Communications to launch the "Evaluation of the Traffic Improvement Strategy from Banqiao to Longtan along the Dahan River" in 2019. The idea of expressway along the Dahan River is proposed. The corridor starts from Chenglin Bridge and runs through the Second Orange Garden Bridge, the Second Orange Garden Bridge, the Second Sanying Bridge and the Sanying Bridge to the Longtan area of Taoyuan.

He said that the total length of this route is about 20 to 26 kilometers, and the total cost is about 42.8 to 43.5 billion yuan.

In addition, Zhong Mingshi also said that in order to improve the traffic congestion on national highways, provincial highways, and urban roads in the Three Gorges area, and to strengthen the connection between National Highway No. 3 and Taiwan Line 3, the New Taipei City Government conducted a feasibility study on the Yuanshan Tunnel in 2016. The corridor connects from Sanying Interchange to Taiwan Line 3 (Baiji Intersection), with a total length of about 3 kilometers and an initial estimate of about 2.82 billion yuan.

Zhong Mingshi said that considering the huge cost of construction projects and environmental impact assessment, they must rely on subsidies from the central government. However, no agreement was reached. I hope that the central government will pay attention to local opinions and jointly solve the problem of congestion of traffic corridors along the Dahan River.
