Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hessein Brahim Taha within the framework of his participation in the high-level week of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

According to the information provided to APA by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that our country attaches great importance to cooperation with the OIC and that very close cooperation is carried out with the organization.

It was emphasized with gratitude that the OIC has traditionally supported Azerbaijan's position of rights, territorial integrity and sovereignty based on international law.

The importance of the statement issued by ICT regarding the situation was presented, presenting detailed information about Armenia's recent provocations against our country.

It was stated that Azerbaijan is determined to continue effective cooperation with the OIC.

General Secretary Hissein Brahim Taha particularly noted that Azerbaijan is an active member of the OIC, and its contribution to the strengthening of Islamic solidarity, intercultural and interreligious dialogue.

He recalled with pleasure his visit to our country and the meetings held in the current year.

At the meeting, opinions were also exchanged on current issues of the OIC cooperation agenda, the regional situation and the plans for joint education, culture and a number of other fields with our country within the framework of the organization.
