Classic Upma Recipe: How to make this wonderful super healthy Upma at home.

Upma is a very tasty South Indian dish.

The easily prepared dish with semolina i.e. rava can be prepared in just 15 to 20 minutes.

It is made in different ways in different parts of the country.

Famous celebrity chef Pankaj Bhadauria teaches you how to make it in a classic style.

He has shared the easy recipe of classic upma on his Instagram account.

Classic Upma Recipe

material

  • Semolina - 1 cup

  • Onion - one

  • Rai - 1/2 tsp

  • Water

  •  Ghee - 2 tbsp

  • Curry leaves – 10

  • Red chili - two

  • salt - as per taste

  • Urad dal - half tsp

  • Chana dal - half teaspoon

  • Cashew - 8-10

  • green coriander

recipe-

Put the pan on low flame and dry roast the semolina in it.

It may take around 7-8 minutes.

Cut the onion and keep it aside.

Now put a pan or wok on the gas on medium flame and melt ghee in it.

Now add mustard seeds, curry leaves, chana dal, urad dal and chilli alternately and fry.

Now add chopped onion and fry for some time.

Now put water in it.

Add salt as per taste on top.

Cover the pan and let the ingredients cook well.

When the water starts boiling well, then add semolina to it and keep stirring.

Add chopped coriander leaves on top and serve hot.
