District Prosecutor's Office - Plovdiv brought as defendants a 29-year-old citizen of Syria, with the status of a permanent resident in Bulgaria, and a 40-year-old Bulgarian citizen for complicity in helping four citizens of Syria, all men, to reside illegally in our country, reported by the press center of the state prosecution.

Burgas, as an instigator, deliberately induced a 29-year-old woman and a 39-year-old Bulgarian citizen to help 20 foreigners stay and cross illegally into the country.

They are citizens of Syria, Afghanistan and Morocco, among them there are two children - 3 years old and 14 years old. A 36-year-old Bulgarian was also detained as a helper.

The five defendants were detained for up to 72 hours by decree of the supervising prosecutor.

The District Prosecutor's Office - Plovdiv is about to submit a request to the court to take a measure of remand "detention in custody" against them.

For a period of 24 hours under the Law on the Interior, seven more persons were detained on September 20.

They were questioned as witnesses and then released.

And at the moment, active actions on the investigation continue.  

Yesterday, the state prosecutor's office informed journalists about 12 people detained in Plovdiv, Harmanli, Haskovo and Sredets during an operation by the police and the prosecutor's office against the trafficking of migrants.
