Commercial issues are being assessed within the framework of the 240 MW solar power plant project in Jabrayl.

According to information provided by "APA-Economics", Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli, the vice president for communication and external relations of the BP company in the Caspian region, told journalists about this.

According to him, two issues remain to be agreed within the evaluation process: "Negotiations are ongoing".

Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli added that the final commercial decision within the project will not be made this year, until then certain stages must be passed.

It should be recalled that in June of this year, an agreement was reached between the Ministry of Energy and BP on the next steps regarding the solar power plant project in the southwestern region of Azerbaijan.

An Addendum to the Implementation Agreement concluded in June 2021 was signed between the parties in order to take the next steps regarding the joint implementation of the 240 MW solar power plant project in Jabrayl.

This document reflects the measures to be taken to finalize joint activities towards the realization of the "Shafaq" solar power plant project.

According to the Addendum to the Implementation Agreement, it is planned to implement a business model called "Virtual Energy Transmission Mechanism" in order to achieve an effective technical and commercial solution in the implementation of the project.

This model enables the production of solar energy in Jabrayl within the framework of the project and its sale to public or private buyers in other parts of the country.
