"It is clear that the criminal war that is being waged at the moment is deepening and escalating. Putin is trying to involve as many people as possible in it," Navalny commented, using the definition, which is prohibited by the Kremlin, where they call the invasion of Ukraine " special military operation".

According to the oppositionist, with the mobilization of 300,000 reservists to reinforce the Russian armed forces, Moscow aims to "stain blood on the hands of hundreds of thousands of people".

"All this is being done so that one person can keep his power (...)" and continue to rule, said Navalny, who has been in custody since January 2021 on charges that he describes as trumped up.

Putin announced today a partial mobilization and threatened the West with the use of nuclear weapons.
