Finland begins measures to prevent Russian tourists from entering the country.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pekka Haavisto, writes the Finnish publication Iltalehti.

"Today we decided to start preparing a national decision on how we can limit this tourist movement or prevent it completely, and this national decision may include new legislation that will be passed very quickly or with the interpretation of existing rules," he said.

The minister emphasized that Finland does not want to be a transit country for Schengen visas issued by other countries."

Haavisto was asked whether Russian tourists pose a threat to Finland's security.

"Finland has taken the position that the average person traveling for tourism does not pose a security threat, but there is a moral or ethical principle in doing so. There is no moral or ethical reason for the Russians to continue their holiday travel as usual, while the very time when Russia is waging war against Ukraine," the diplomat explained.

The head of the Finnish parliament's foreign affairs committee, Jussi Halla-aho, added that his country should draw conclusions from the aggressive statements of the Putin regime.

"European Truth" writes about it.

"Our neighbor is a country that says through its defense minister that it is at war with the West. The Finns should draw conclusions from this, for example, regarding the movement of Russians," he said.

Yussi Halla-aho believes that his country should show solidarity with Ukraine and the Baltic countries, as well as with Poland and close the land border with Russia.

We will remind that after the announcement of the mobilization in Russia, plane tickets to countries with which the Russian Federation has a visa-free regime were bought up.

Queues also arose at the land borders, in particular - to Finland.

Earlier, Finland finally stopped the railway connection with the Russian Federation.
