Russia will continue to support Serbia in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity, Moscow appreciates Belgrade's balanced course in the international arena.

"We appreciate the desire of Serbian friends to follow a balanced, independent course in the international arena, we will continue to provide our Serbian friends with comprehensive support in defending the legitimate rights and interests of Serbia, protecting its state sovereignty and territorial integrity," said the Russian head of state.

Putin added that Russia and Serbia are linked by a "strategic partnership based on the traditions of friendship" and stressed that he discussed the development of cooperation between the two countries with Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic

"We regularly discuss with President Vučić in personal meetings and in telephone conversations the key issues for the further development of cooperation and we will continue to work together to deepen political dialogue, expand cooperation in the economy, trade, science, technology, cultural and humanitarian spheres ", he added.
