On September 20, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with OSCE Secretary General Helga Shmit as part of his participation in the high-level week of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

J. Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches importance to cooperation with the OSCE, and in this regard, it is important to implement the cooperation program between our country and the OSCE in the current post-conflict period.

At the same time, he noted a number of destructive activities of Armenia within the framework of the OSCE.

J. Bayramov gave detailed information to the Secretary General of the OSCE about the recent large-scale provocations carried out by Armenia in the region and the current situation, issues related to the implementation of tripartite declarations, initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan in the direction of the normalization of relations between the two countries.

The minister drew attention to issues such as the delimitation of borders between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the clearance of landmines.

Despite the recent military clashes and our losses, he emphasized that Azerbaijan is in favor of starting the peace treaty process without wasting time.

OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmit, in her turn, expressed her concern over the recent clashes and expressed her condolences for the losses.

The Secretary General said that they are ready to support the normalization process, taking into account the long-term experience of the OSCE in the region.

The parties exchanged views on issues of Azerbaijan-OSCE cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
