In the Kyiv region, people who lost their homes during the active phase of hostilities with the Russian army received keys to new homes.

Metropolitan Epiphany of the OCU came to the consecration of the houses, which were built with the funds of sponsors, according to the story of TSN.

Among those who moved into the new house is 85-year-old Feliksa Drachenko, who survived two wars.

She did not believe in a miracle, but near the old house burned by the Russians, a new home was built for her daughter and cat.

Also, Oleksandr Savchuk, who is known for having given the coordinates of his luxurious house to Ukrainian artillerymen with the words: "There are full of Russians. Beat them." "When I pointed from the second floor, my wife said that this is my house. And I there was one thought: we will rebuild after the victory, let them beat. This is the act of a citizen," the man shared his memories.

Other affected families also moved into the houses.

All this time they lived with their children and elderly parents in neighbor's garages and cellars.

The buildings were built using modern technologies at the expense of the Metropolitan Fund of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Patron Andriy Matsola allocated 20 million hryvnias for this program.

According to him, he could not watch how the old and young lived in terrible conditions.

"We chose families with many children who lost everything, so we concentrated on three villages - Andriivka in the Makariv district, Ozera and Moschun.

These villages are destroyed by 80%.

I have a house in the Vyshgorod district of the Kyiv region and, thank God and our defenders, the rioters did not reach my house six kilometers away.

As a Ukrainian, I consider it necessary to help my neighbors," said Andriy Matsola.

Military Andriy Bondarenko remembers how his house was burned down by the Russians when they found out that the owner fought in Donbas for Ukraine.

"They set it on fire on purpose.

Neighbors jumped out to put out the fire, but they with machine guns said: "Back."

Neighbors were begging and crying," he recalls.

It is difficult for Ukrainians now, more than ever, but right now it is necessary to unite and support each other, especially the needy, say the priests of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphany of Kyiv and All Ukraine called to do good.

"I am so happy that we managed to implement all this, because when we visited these places a few months ago and saw these destructions, we had a desire to help people - to build houses so that they could face the cold and winter.

We are called to do good," adds the Metropolitan.

Epiphanius wants the initiated initiative to build a new home to work in the future if patrons help the church and the needy.
