It is important for us to get to the root cause of the disaster in Karlovsko, so that it is not necessary to invest funds in the restoration of the subsequent damages and, above all, to avoid human casualties.

All relevant authorities have been contacted - the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Agriculture, the RIWS, the prosecutor's office.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Economy Dimitar Danchev in the program "The Day Begins" on BNT.

According to him, at the moment it has been established that there was no illegal logging.

"People who were there saw that the vast majority of the trees that were brought down during the disaster were uprooted.

Which shows they are not cut off.

But given the enormous damage and the severe consequences - we will collect all the information from the forestry companies, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other control bodies about whether there was illegal logging in the past," noted Danchev.

He clarified that at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for Recovery and Assistance at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a decision was made to allocate more funds to carry out preventive activities.

Because of the flood damage: 378 families in Karlovsko receive benefits of BGN 375.

More than BGN 10 million have been set aside for the disaster in Karlovsko, which according to preliminary estimates will cover the most necessary and urgent expenses.

Only the costs for the full restoration of the disaster are about 80 million, which is approximately the entire budget of the commission for a whole year.

As of today, the payment of aid to the people in the villages affected by the floods begins, the amount of the one-time aid is BGN 375 and it will be paid on time, he added.

As of today, 100 people employed by the Employment Agency, as well as another 120 military personnel, are starting work on site.

They started helping the population in the three most affected villages - Slatina, Bogdan and Karavelovo.
