The Ministry of e-Government has begun the implementation of the last step of authentication of the voting machines - trusted construction of the machines' software and generation of the hash code.

The trial, which will last several hours tonight, is taking place in a secure and controlled environment in one of the ministry's halls, with no outside access, so that it is impossible to be influenced by outside factors, and its beginning was broadcast in real time to members of the media .

The procedure for building the software, which will be installed on all voting machines on October 2, is being carried out in front of representatives of the Central Election Commission (CEC), political parties and international observers.

"We have witnessed the so-called trusted build - the version of the software that will be used for the election machines on October 2 has been created.

It was created by CEC experts and the contractor.

The important elements are the generation of the key, which will be in three parts.

Three people will enter passwords that will be used for a key.

The second part is the generation of the hash code, which must be the same for all machines and guarantee the uniformity of the software," explained Deputy Minister of Electronic Government Blagovest Kirilov.

CEC spokesperson Rositsa Mateva added that installing the software on all technical voting devices will take about ten days.

"The hash code generated tonight should be the same for all devices.

It will be printed on each control slip after a voter's vote.

It will be publicly available for comparison in the sectional election commissions and will be made public.

Every voter, by voting, will carry out control," she also commented.
