According to the information given to APA by the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov stated that the attack on the embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Paris by a group of radical extremist forces of the Armenian diaspora in France was a demonstrative violation of French laws and generally recognized international legal norms. was brought to the attention of the other party.

It was noted that during the attack material damage was done to the embassy building, the activities of the diplomatic mission and the lives of employees were threatened.

Deputy Minister Khalaf Khalafov expressed strong objection to the creation of conditions for these actions of radical Armenian groups and the failure to prevent them in time, deeply regretting France's failure to fulfill its obligation to ensure the security of diplomatic missions by the receiving country in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. expressed.

Also, it was demanded that the act of vandalism, which endangers the diplomatic mission and its staff, should be thoroughly investigated by the French law enforcement agencies, an appropriate legal assessment should be issued, the guilty persons should be brought to justice, and compensation should be provided for the damage caused.

The French ambassador said that the incident against the Azerbaijani embassy was regrettable.

In accordance with the request of the Azerbaijani side, it was noted that relevant steps will be taken to provide an appropriate legal evaluation of the incident.
