Mohali SP Navneet Singh Virk spoke to NDTV regarding the alleged leaking of videos made of girls in Chandigarh University hostel in Mohali.

He said that the charge of making the video is on a girl living in the hostel.

The police arrested the accused girl and the matter is being investigated.

The SP said that we checked the phone of that girl.

We found four videos in the phone which were of his own. 

The SP told NDTV that the girl sent her videos to her boyfriend living in Shimla.

He said that last night we got the news that some girls have committed suicide.

When we reached there, we saw that some girls have fainted due to the demonstration.

We called an ambulance and sent them for treatment.

Mohali SP Navneet Singh Virk told NDTV that I can say responsibly that no girl attempted suicide.

We have also arrested the girl and that boy from Shimla.

The phones of the girl and the boy have been sent for forensic examination.

Forensic samples have also been sent from the bathroom. 

The SP said that there was a rumor that 60 girls' MMS have been made.

No video has gone viral.

He said that a video of the warden went viral, in which the girl has been questioned.

Let us inform that earlier, RS Bawa, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Chandigarh University, in an official statement regarding the matter, also said that the reports of MMS videos being made of different girl students are completely fake and baseless.

Bawa said that in this case all the phones and other related devices have been handed over to the police.

So that the police can investigate the whole matter seriously.

The university has issued this statement at a time when it was being said that more than 60 such objectionable videos have been found in the phones of girl students.


At the same time, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has assured that the matter will be investigated with utmost seriousness.

Also, strict action will be taken against the culprits.

Along with this, the National Commission for Women has also issued a statement regarding this matter.

It has been told that he has taken this whole matter very seriously.

The Chairperson of the Women's Commission Rekha Sharma has also written a letter to the DGP of Punjab regarding the investigation of the matter.
