Commissions of engineers and constructors will begin inspections in the flood-damaged villages of Karlovy Vary - Bogdan, Karavelovo, Slatina and Voinyagovo from tomorrow.

This was announced by the mayor of Karlovo municipality and chairman of the Crisis Staff, Emil Kabaivanov.

The teams will examine the damaged buildings and describe the damage to them.

Based on the information gathered, they will give an opinion on whether the relevant buildings are subject to repair, whether they are fit for habitation, or whether they should be demolished.

The final decision will be taken by the municipal administration after a careful analysis of the data from the reports of the specialists.

Volunteers help the flood victims in Karavelovo, Bogdan and Slatina

More than 74 units of heavy, medium and small-sized construction equipment worked yesterday to repair the damage in the villages of Bogdan, Karavelovo and Slatina.

30 trucks, 12 wheeled combined excavators, two bulldozers, two dozers, 53 crawler excavators, five cutters, 12 bobcats and others were sent to the field to deal with the consequences of the disaster.

The water in the entire municipality of Karlovo continues to be unfit for drinking and cooking.

It is recommended to use it only for household purposes.

If the ban is lifted by the RZI, the Crisis Staff will notify the population in a timely manner.

On September 2, after a torrential rain of 200 liters per square meter that lasted eight hours, populated areas in the municipalities of Karlovo, Maritsa and Kaloyanovo were flooded.

They were flooded by the rivers Tatl Dere, Slatinska, Bogdanska and Stryama.

The Karlovian villages of Karavelovo, Bogdan and Slatina suffered the worst, where a state of emergency was declared.

Hundreds of houses were affected, infrastructure, bridges were destroyed.

The army, police and volunteers are involved in clearing the villages.
