Jitiya festival is celebrated every year on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month.

It is also known as Jivitputrika Vrat.

Apart from this, this festival is also known as Jitiya, Jitiya (jitiya vrat 2022) etc.

Jitiya Vrat is observed from Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha to Navami Tithi of Ashwin month.

This year this fast will start from the night of 18 September and will continue till 19 September 2022.

According to the Panchang, this time the Ashtami date for the Jitiya festival is starting from 2.14 pm on 17th September.

Whereas the Ashtami date will end on September 18 at 4:32 pm.

According to the belief of Udaya Tithi, Jitiya's fast will be kept on 18th September.

Apart from this, the fasting (jitiya vrat 2022 Parana) will be done on 19 September.

The fast can be broken after 6.10 am on 19th September.

Jimutvahan is worshiped on the day of Jitiya (Jitiya Vrat 2022).

According to religious beliefs, on the day of Ashtami, the idol of Jimutavahan is made from Kush near the pond during Pradosh period.

The idols of eagle and female jackal are also made from cow dung.

In the worship, first of all, incense, lamp, flowers and Akshat are offered to Jimutvahan.

Along with this, the eagle and jackal are vaccinated with Lala vermilion.

After this the fasting story is recited.

At the end of the puja, aarti is performed to the god Jimutvahana.

Peda, Doob, standing rice, 16 knots of thread, cardamom, betel nut and bamboo leaves are also offered in the worship.

Mustard oil and cake is also offered in the worship of Jitiya, which is applied on the children's head the next day to remove the evil eye.
