handed over to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán

Viktor Orbán (Hungarian: Orbán Viktor) is the current Prime Minister of Hungary, the Order of the Republic of Serbia for outstanding merits in the development and strengthening of peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries, Tanjug reported.

Vučić pointed out that it was a great honor and pleasure for him to award the Prime Minister of Hungary with the highest order that Serbia presents, BTA informed.

Orbán indicated that he understands the award as an encouragement for what he will do from now on in the interest of Serbian-Hungarian friendship, Beta Agency adds.

"We both know that the next six months, until March 31, are crucial for the survival of our countries and nations. We agreed to work together on everything, to speed up all our activities and cooperation 100 times. We Serbs can we rely on Hungary and Hungary on Serbia," Vucic said at a joint press conference with Orban.

The Hungarian Prime Minister commented at the press conference that the European policy of sanctions has not brought good to anyone and that the crisis situation in Europe will immediately improve if this policy is changed.

Vucic: I swore by the Constitution that Serbia will never recognize Kosovo

"We would like the sanctions policy to change and be put on a more reasonable basis in Brussels," Orban said when asked if he had discussed European sanctions against Russia over the invasion of Ukraine at the meeting with the Serbian president.

The Hungarian prime minister expressed concern that the world was entering a growing economic crisis and said that if sanctions were lifted, the situation would immediately improve.

"I can say that it is easy to determine the policy of sanctions from Paris or Brussels or Madrid or maybe even from Berlin," Orbán added.

He emphasized that the country that is much closer to a country against which sanctions are imposed suffers much more and that it is not surprising that the Hungarian position on the issue of sanctions against Russia radically diverges from the position of Brussels.

Regarding European energy sanctions against Russia, Orbán said the Europeans are "energy dwarfs who impose sanctions on energy giants".
