Changsha is the capital of Hunan province, home to about 10 million people.

A huge fire has broken out in a multi-storey building in the Chinese city of Changsha.

China's state media has given this information.

It has also been told that the number of casualties is not yet known.

CCTV has reported that, "There is a lot of smoke rising from the site of the fire and several dozen malls are badly burning in the grip of the fire."

It is further said that firefighters have started dousing the flames and relief and rescue operations are being carried out.

It has been told in the report that people's homes and offices were both in the skyscraper.

It is the building of China's state-owned telecommunications company China Telecom.

 A photo released by CCTV showed orange flames emanating from the building in the heart of the city and black smoke covered the sky.  


Videos posted by local media on social media show that the building has turned black from outside.
