It is very important to explain correctly and concretely to the citizens what is happening.

Regarding the Recovery Plan, at the end of August we submitted the first payment request.

It is based on already implemented reforms and several launched investment projects.

The European Commission is expected to evaluate this request of ours to receive money in the autumn.

This was stated by Atanas Pekanov

Atanas Pekanov is an economist at the Austrian Institute for Economic Research (WIFO), in Vienna, acting deputy prime minister for the management of European funds, on the air of the program "Your Day" on NOVA NEWS.

According to him, there are reforms in the field of energy, which a year ago by the European Commission looked very good.

"But in view of the current energy situation, they need to be rethought to meet short-term concerns."

What is important now is that Bulgaria fights in the European Union when the discussions for additional funds are made.

In this regard, we usually manage to reach 98-99% of the sums," Pekanov stressed.

Atanas Pekanov: Today we must all fight together for a united and prosperous Bulgaria

"Executive bills have been prepared.

This is the right approach.

They go through public consultations and through the Council of Ministers, after which the deputies have the responsibility to accept them", said the Deputy Prime Minister.

In his words, inflation is shocking throughout Europe

.

"In Bulgaria it is higher than in the Eurozone and the European Union.

I support that there should be compensation for households that suffer a loss of real purchasing power.

However, this should happen in a targeted manner.

It is necessary to help those households that are in the greatest need," believes Pekanov.
