The lack of an adequate response and measures aimed at implementing the requirements of the UN Security Council has emboldened Armenia to strengthen the consequences of the illegal use of force against Azerbaijan.

APA reports that Yashar Aliyev, the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN, said this at the meeting of the UN Security Council.

He emphasized that Armenia has neither moral nor political right to make statements about the internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan.

"On the night of September 12-13, the armed forces of Armenia took advantage of the night time and the difficult terrain in the direction of the Dashkasan, Kalbajar and Lachin regions of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border and tried to plant mines on the roads between the military units of the Azerbaijani army, and committed a large-scale sabotage.

In addition, the positions of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces were subjected to intense fire from various weapons, including mortars and artillery.

As a result, 42 servicemen of the Azerbaijan National Army and 8 border guards were killed that night, significant damage was caused to the military infrastructure.

Neutralization of the threat to Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity,

took adequate and measured measures to ensure the safety of military personnel and civilians participating in the ongoing reconstruction and restoration works in the area near the state border.

The measures taken in response to Armenia's provocations were targeted and limited to legitimate military objects.

"Contrary to the accusations we heard from the representative of Armenia, the Ministry of Health of this country declared that there were no injured civilians."

Yashar Aliyev stressed that Armenian social media are sharing photos showing attacks on civil infrastructure.

In fact, these photos are images of the devastation caused by Armenia's strikes on Azerbaijan's civilian objects during the 2020 war.

The diplomat added that especially on October 28, 2020, 21 civilians were killed and more than 70 were injured during the rocket attack on the center of Barda city.
