"It is still important to emphasize to Putin that Russia must withdraw from Ukraine," said Scholz.

Scholz asked Putin for a full withdrawal from Ukraine

During the 90-minute phone call, the German chancellor called on the Russian president to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict based on a ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Russian troops as soon as possible.

At the same time, Scholz explained that there are no indications that Putin is inclined to change his position, notes BTA.

Amid criticism from Ukraine that Germany had not sent enough weapons to it, he assured that German supplies had played a "decisive role" and had "made the difference" to the latest developments in the war, the BBC reported.
