Foreign direct investment in Albania in the first half of the year reached 634 million euros, the highest level recorded so far for this period of the year. 

According to data from the Bank of Albania, the value of foreign direct investment this year increased by 35% compared to the previous year.

The Central Bank also announced that in the second quarter, a record flow of foreign direct investments entered the country in the amount of 337 million euros, or 43% more compared to the same period last year.

This is also the highest value of foreign investments within a quarter, recorded in the entire financial history of the country.

In the second quarter of 2022, foreign direct investments were mainly directed to the sector of hydrocarbons (18%), energy (13%), financial intermediation (5%), as well as in communications - in the amount of 2%, BTA informs.
