The Speaker of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, rejected the initiative of the head of OBRM-PDUKM, Hristijan Mickoski, to hold a referendum on the repeal of the Good Neighbor Agreement with Bulgaria.

In his reasoning, Xhaferi says that the initiative is against the Constitution, informs Tv21.

"The initiative is not in accordance with Article 118 of the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as with Article 8, paragraph 1, paragraph 11 of the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia, respectively, in Article 118 of the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia In the North, it is determined that international agreements that have been ratified in accordance with the Constitution are part of the internal legal order and cannot be changed by law.

In article 8, paragraph 1, paragraph 11 of the Constitution, it is determined that the fundamental value of the constitutional order of the Republic of North Macedonia is also the respect of the generally accepted norms of international law", declared Xhaferi.
