Otherwise, Lajçak and the newly appointed advisers of Germany and France for this dialogue, Jenns Plettner and Emmanuel Beaune, last week visited Pristina and Belgrade where they held meetings with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

The purpose of the visit of the European diplomats was to examine the options for progress in the dialogue for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

On September 4, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz appointed advisers to help in the EU-brokered dialogue.

In a letter sent to Kurt and Vucic, Macron and Scholz said that the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is essential for the Western Balkans.

Macron and Scholz also called on the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia to show maximum determination and willingness to take difficult decisions, which, they said, lead to the progress of the dialogue.
