The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) has sought a report from the Chairman of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Chief Secretary of Delhi on a complaint that a Sikh man was allegedly stopped from entering a metro station with a kirpan.


Along with this, NCM has also directed to take action against the officials responsible for the matter.

In a statement issued here, the NCM said that a complaint has been received from Giani Kewal Singh, former Jathedar of Dum Dum Sahib, that he was stopped from entering the Dwarka Sector 21 metro station in New Delhi and asked to remove the kirpan.


According to the statement, NCM President Iqbal Singh Lalpura has summoned a report from DMRC President and Delhi Chief Secretary in the matter.

He has also asked to take action against the officials responsible in this matter.
