Kosovo and Albania have recently faced various cyber attacks.

On September 6, the Government of Kosovo announced that several websites of state institutions were the target of a cyber attack, without specifying which ones it was about.

However, the attack did not manage to penetrate the infrastructure of the state computer network, as it was "blocked by the relevant security equipment".

Meanwhile, Albania severed diplomatic ties with Iran on September 7, saying that investigations have shown that the cyber attacks were carried out by Iran as a "state aggressor".

Avni Islami, an expert on security issues, invited to the show "Five", on RTV Dukagjini, has also called the cyber attacks against Albania and Kosovo attacks against the United States of America.

This is because, as he says, the very alignment of Albania and Kosovo alongside democratic countries for hostile countries are considered the same as countries that work against their interests.

"Recently, in the framework of the hybrid war, it is extremely active and the cyber security systems are being attacked, either state ones or large enterprises, factories".

"The alignment of Albania but also of Kosovo supports democratic countries, supports the USA, in the global policies of the country of America and other countries that follow the democratic path for each country that is against the USA and Western countries", expressed Islami .

According to him, such attacks come within the framework of so-called model attacks against a country that wants to achieve a certain goal with its own policies.

"It wouldn't be a surprise if one day the state websites were hacked by the enemies of Kosovo and Albania, and in this particular case it is known that on the side of Russia, Serbia, Iran, China, North Korea, which are considered as opponents of the USA and anyone who sides with the USA is considered as their enemy", he added.

For Islam, the cyber war has taken a special place because, as he points out, through the cyber war, different messages are presented and conveyed through social networks, different organizations where fake news is spread in order to create confusion and uncertainty in the public.

Can KIA and KSF be endangered?

The security expert, Avni Islami, has said that although both are independent institutions, he does not believe that they can be attacked because they have specialized teams within the organizations.

"Both of these are of special importance and specialized teams act as specialists within the organization as an additional professional team in order not to penetrate to top secret information," he said.

When asked how he sees the Government's approach in terms of security, Islami said that the investment in the KSF also plays a special role.

"Each government that comes to power has its own policies, which comes with a clear program.

We have seen that the current Government has invested in the Kosovo Security Force, and in the context of national security, it is not a small investment considering Kosovo's budget.

When the investment is made in an organization like the KSF, then that budget will affect the increase of Kosovo's security", he said.

"Any tendency to attack Kosovo is an attack on NATO"

However, he says that currently Kosovo is not threatened by anyone.

This is because KFOR forces are stationed in Kosovo, "which is a derivative of the North Atlantic Alliance and any tendency to attack Kosovo is an attack on the North Atlantic Alliance".

"It is known that Serbia constantly threatens with words, but in practical cases every centimeter that is violated by a foreign country is considered aggression against our country, and every aggression against Kosovo is considered aggression against NATO", he said./RTV Dukagjini/
