Deepak Mundi, the main shooter in the Sidhu Musewala murder case, has been taken to Mansa in Punjab along with two of his associates, officials said on Sunday.

On Saturday, the main accused Deepak Mundi was arrested along with two of his associates Kapil Pandit and Rajinder.

Both are accused of providing weapons and other facilities to the accused.

According to Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav, Deepak alias Mundi was till now throwing dust in the eyes of the police and in a joint operation with central agencies he was caught along with two of his associates from the West Bengal-Nepal border.

The DGP tweeted, "Punjab Police has achieved great success by conducting a joint operation with Central Agencies and Delhi Police and arrested Deepak Mundi, absconding shooter of Sidhu Musewala murder case along with his two associates.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, a big victory has been achieved in the ongoing war against drugs and notorious accused.

In another tweet, he said, "Deepak, Kapil Pandit and Rajinder were arrested on Saturday on the West Bengal-Nepal border as part of an intelligence operation by the AGTF team.

Deepak was among those who shot Musewala sitting in the Bolero, while Kapil Pandit and Rajinder provided arms, hideout and other assistance.

It is to be known that on May 29, singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Musewala, was shot dead in Mansa district of Punjab.

The incident happened a day after the Punjab government withdrew his security permanently.

Musewala was on his way to Jawahar's village in Mansa with his friend and cousin when the six accused stopped his vehicle and started firing.

The responsibility of the attack was claimed by gangster Goldie Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang based in Canada.

Police identified the accused as Priyavrata Fauji, Kashish, Ankit Sersa, Deepak Mundi, Manpreet Singh and Jagroop Singh Roopa, who were allegedly involved in the murder.

While the Special Cell of Delhi Police had arrested Fauji, Kashish and Sersa, the Punjab Police had killed Roopa and Manpreet in an encounter in Amritsar.

In a 1,850-page chargesheet filed in a Mansa court last month, the Punjab Police had said that Goldie Brar had colluded with gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and a few others to execute Musewala's murder.

According to the charge sheet, Goldie Brar had informed the accused about the withdrawal of Musewala's security and asked them to kill him at the earliest.

The gangster living in Canada is said to have conspired to kill Moosewala to avenge the murder of young Akali leader Vicky Middukheda who was killed last year.

The name of Shaganpreet Singh, who is said to be the manager of Moosewala, had surfaced in the murder of Middukhed.

The charge sheet contains sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 341 (wrongful restraint), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) and 148 (rioting, deadly weapon) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). armed with) and charges have been framed under relevant sections of the Arms Act.
