Taking cognizance of the report of a high-level inquiry committee on Lucknow's Levana Hotel fire incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed for strict action against 19 officials for prima facie irregularities and negligence.

Many retirees are also included in this.

According to the statement, these instructions have been given by the Chief Minister after receiving the investigation report of Police Commissioner Lucknow SB Shirodkar and Divisional Commissioner Lucknow Roshan Jacob regarding the fire accident.

The spokesman said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, departmental action would be taken against the officers of Home Department, Energy Department, Appointment Department, Housing and Urban Planning Department (Lucknow Development Authority) and Excise Department by suspending them.

He said that action would be taken against the retired officers in the light of the prevailing rules of the departments concerned.

Departmental proceedings will be instituted by suspending the then District Excise Officer Lucknow, Amit Kumar Srivastava, the then Excise Inspector Sector-1 Lucknow and Jainendra Upadhyay Deputy Excise Commissioner Lucknow Division.

The spokesman said that under the Home Department, Abhay Bhan Pandey, Chief Fire Officer (Retd) and Housing and Urban Planning Department (Lucknow Development Authority) Arun Kumar Singh, then Executive Engineer (Retd), Om Prakash Mishra, then Executive Engineer (Retd), Mr. Action will be taken against Ganeshi Dutt Singh, the then Junior Engineer (Retd) as per the prevailing rules of the departments concerned.
